Each one of the four C-zones has a very diverse landscape, from steep mountains to the flat valleys.
There is plenty of public land to hunt in these four zones. Lassen National Forest as well as Shasta-Trinity National forest making up most of the public land.
Riddled with oaks and lava rock the valley areas are sometimes difficult to navigate. This loaction can hold plenty of large record class deer, as well as other animals like bear and pigs.
These four zones hold a mix of blacktail deer and mule deer, with some of the deer creating hybrids between the two.
Black bear can be located through out all of the terrain in these zones. the high elevation areas will hold the bears in the early season, then you can find bears in the lower elevation later in the season.
Wild pig can be found in the lower elevations in these zones. They will be feeding in the farm land
Wild turkey can be found through out the zones in various terrain. During the spring (mating season) they will respond to calls far more then they will in the fall. They are one of the most exciting animals to hunt with a bow.
